Australian Federation of Friends of Museums
The Australian Federation of Friends of Museums (AFFM), is a national, not for profit organisation connecting museum, gallery and library supporters throughout Australia.
AFFM is here to provide support and communication channels between members groups, friends and volunteers within arts and cultural organisations.
We are unique in that our focus is on supporting the groups that are the backbone of our favourite museums, galleries and libraries.

In the current economic climate, AFFM recognises the difficulties faced by all volunteer based Friends groups and will offer a 50% discount on all membership fees for 2021/2022 financial year (October 21 - September 22). Notice of 2021 Annual General Meeting
The AGM of members of the Australian Federation of Friends of Museums (AFFM)
will be held Tuesday 18th January 2022
at 12:00 noon (ACDT - Adelaide) / 12:30pm (AEDT - Eastern States)
In light of the COVID 19 travel restrictions and changes in legislation allowing the meetings to be held online, rather than face-to-face, the Executive Committee has decided, in the interests of the health and safety of members and other stakeholders, to once again hold this year's meeting virtually.
Information on how to participate and to obtain / lodge an election form, will be posted here and emailed to all members.
The agenda of the meeting is as follows:
1. Welcome and opening by the President of the AFFM
2. Apologies for noting
3. Minutes for approval - AGM held online 22nd January 2021
4. Reports - President's report, Treasurer's report (Audited Accounts), World Federation of Friends report, State Vice Presidents' reports
5. Election of Office Bearers: President, Public Officer, Secretary, Treasurer, Vice Presidents, Committee Members
6. Appointment of Auditor
7. Hosting and location of next AGM October 2022
8. Other Business
9. Presentation - 'Hidden Lives - discovering women's stories in regional museums' by Dr Roslyn Russell
You can vote ahead of the meeting. Given election of office bearers will be determined by way of a poll, and the virtual nature of the meeting, we recommend you utilise this method of voting ahead of the meeting. Forms can be accessed using the links below.
